Sunday 18 November
10.30 - 1.00pm
Do
you play a musical instrument or sing? Do you want an opportunity to get
your dusty instrument back out of its case? Do you have a friend or relative
older or younger you’d like to make music with? Do you both want a
different context in which to play together with a new group of people?
SoundsCreative Vortex Lab (Big & Small) aims to forge an exciting connection between a group of musicians of all ages, abilities, instrumentation and musical interests.
Over the course of the Sunday morning workshop the group will collaboratively create a new composition with workshop leader/musician Tara Franks and friends.
With an emphasis on creative processes including composition, riff building and improvisation, the morning workshop will open up a lab space in which the participants will be guided through a creative process/jam.
Each workshop will focus on a new musical idea/skill and may also include a variety of vocal and percussion activities to introduce a starting idea. All participants must be able to play the musical instrument they bring along, however notation reading is not required.
The workshop gives participants the opportunity to work alongside new band members, including professional musicians, a friend or relative, old or young, in a relaxed but structured atmosphere.
Sign up individually or as a pair (Big and small) e.g parent and child, two friends, young person and aunt, young person and grandparent, student and teacher.
Bring your instrument, voice, percussion and have fun making music together
being part of a group creating its own collaborative piece of music.
All abilities, instruments and ages welcomed.
