Jonny Mansfield is predominantly know for his eleven piece band ‘Elftet’ playing “intricate but groove laden originals that appealed across generations.” (Jazzwise) In June 2019, Jonny released his debut album, which was recorded at Real World Studios with vibraphone virtuoso Jim Hart producing, Alex Bonney engineering as well as exciting guests Gareth Lockrane, Kit Downes and tenor legend Chris Potter. Jonny is the recipient of many awards including the Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize as well as being nominated for an Ivors Novello award for his suite ‘On Marsden Moor’, which sets five Simon Armitage poems.
The gig will feature a combination of Jonny’s original compositions as well as American Songbook arrangements influenced by titans of the genre such as Dick Oatts, Fred Hersch and Mark Turner.
