Sarah Moule

‘If being in touch with the heritage of jazz music is an essential ingredient, then Sarah Moule’s set drips with authenticity’ (YorkshireCoastGigs.com on Scarborough Jazz Festival 2014).  Singer Sarah Moule and her band play music that has genuine roots in the jazz tradition.  The set features earthy blues and sensual reworkings of classic songs together with new songs from acclaimed songwriters Simon Wallace and the late Fran Landesman that has been described by critics on both sides of the Atlantic as belonging to the latest chapter of the Great American Songbook.  Her new CD, ‘Songs From The Floating World’, (Sept. 2014) garnered  ★★★★★  in The Observer on its release and was warmly praised in the jazz press.  The band, which has been together since 2002, features Nina Simone’s drummer of two decades Paul Robinson, ECM bassist Mick Hutton and pianist and composer Simon Wallace.
‘Massive talent and perfect technique – as a solo artist Sarah Moule stands in the very top flight of UK singers‘
Brian Blain, LondonJazz.com
‘Superb interpretations, wildly romantic – Moule really finds the soul of her instrument on this outstanding collection’
★★★★  Peter Quinn, Jazzwise October 2014
‘Classic, late-night club jazz…evocative of the floating world of ambiguity and decadence the songs conjure up. A classy and intelligent set.’ ★★★★ Jazz Journal November 2014
‘A first rate set.’
Clive Davis, The Sunday Times Magazine 14/9/14
