About

This special lockdown collaboration performance by Solstice, featuring animation by Grant Gilchrist, will celebrate the release of the band’s new album – “Food for Thought”. “..Creative, imaginative, wild and copiously inventive…” John Fordham – The Guardian. Solstice is a collaboration between six like-minded bandleaders and composers who share a common love of contemporary jazz, fine food and wine! This concert of the new music from the album will be intercut with Gilchrist’s animations telling stories imbued with humour and pathos, around food and music, and their nourishing effects on our health and well-being in general and especially now during the pandemic.

This is a pre-recorded performance not filmed at the Vortex. Many thanks to:

Louise Boer (Filmographer)
Grant Gilchrist (Animation)
Jac Jones (Sound Engineer)
