Get Involved: Membership & Volunteering

Throughout the year Vortex puts on live shows in various venues other than our own club in Dalston.

Here are some of the venues we’ve been working with lately:

Bishopsgate Institute

For the third year running, Vortex is venturing out of Dalston and into the City for an extremely special series of Autumn concerts. In September, October and November this year we will be hosting three evenings of live music in the stunning Grand Hall of Bishopsgate Institute. Bishopsgate Institute has been inspiring the City and beyond for over a hundred years, providing a public space where inquisitiveness, debate and independent thought are cherished. Here at Vortex, we are passionate about music that challenges and opens minds, always seeking to nurture a culture of exploration, improvisation and innovation amongst our musicians and audiences alike. The City Sessions is where these two like-minded organisations come together to bring new and exciting music to the heart of London.

Cafe OTO and Servant Jazz Quarters

Occasionally we partner up with these two venues, both a stones throw away from Vortex. Earlier this year we collaborated on Night Contact, a pop up evening of photography and film. And we’re excited to be working with these two fantastic venues again this December to bring you Intersect: a day festival of adventurous new music taking place across all three venues.
