April 2007 gig reviews by Chris Parker
Jazz biographer and trumpeter John Chilton launched his autobiography Hot Jazz, Warm Feet at Ray's Jazz and played vibrant trumpet (with long-time front-line partner Wally Fawkes on clarinet) to a healthy-sized audience of well-wishers for half an hour or so before signing copies.
Singer George Melly contributed a couple of numbers, plus a few reminiscences – all in all, a much-deserved celebration of the lifelong work of the doyen of jazz biographers .
