Here Is The Blues! The Vortex Chess Sessions

Sunday 18 November

Vortex regulars, Billy Jenkins and Steve Morrison performed to a less than packed club, but demonstrated equal amounts of professionalism and musicianship.

There are simply few more enjoyable ways of spending a Sunday afternoon than listening to these two í Jenkins all blisteringly urgent guitar playing and pleasantly world-weary banter, Morrison the perfect complement with his neat but powerful playing; both bringing amusingly topical blues to the act í and there is the added attraction of chess and the odd piece of Swiss roll, provided by Oliver Weindling (Vortex director). What more could the human heart desire?
