This show heralds a return to Arun Ghosh's celebrated IndoJazz sound. Long time tabla collaborator Nilesh Gulhane is brought back into the fold, and the MOBO Award winning pianist, Zoe Rahman joins as a very special guest.
Tonight, and ahead of its release in Autumn this year, the group will be performing Ghosh's IndoJazz chamber work, 'A South Asian Suite'. This mesmeric and enchanting six movement suite is inspired by the music, landscape and peoples of Nepal, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as seen from the viewpoint of a British-Asian from a Northern town.
Pieces from Ghosh's acclaimed albums 'Northern Namaste' and 'Primal Odyssey', new collaborations and some euphoric live favourites make up the second half of this special and welcome return to the Vortex.
