Born in the UK to Ghanaian parents Adjoa Owusu is one of the finest afro-soul-jazz singers in the country. She creates her own style by mixing straight ahead soul with jazz and African rhythms of her Ghanaian heritage. Her gorgeous songs and infectious jazz grooves of her musicians create music with great style and confidence.
Adjoa sings in English, French, Spanish and Twi. Tonight she features songs from her new “Adjoa EP” and performs with her musicians, featuring Chris Jerome (keyboards), Emmanuel Tagoe, (percussion), Frank Tontoh (Drums), and Eustace Williams (Bass).
Pianist Niran Obasa’s meditative solo piano music is highly influenced by his formal musical lessons in Nigerian churches.
