The Vortex Jazz Foundation

Supporting The Vortex and promoting jazz in London

The Vortex Jazz Foundation was set up in November 2001 to save the Vortex Jazz Club from closure.

A registered charity, (registered charity number 1099088), The Foundation’s aims and objectives are to help secure the future of live jazz in North and East London and to develop a programme of jazz education and audience development.

Objectives

to run workshops suited to a wide range of ages and abilities

to provide opportunities for students to perform in public

to commission new music

to award prizes and bursaries.

Since the original club in Stoke Newington closed the Foundation, in conjuction with the club, are raising money to secure a long-term future at the new venue in Dalston Culture House in East London.
