SUMMARY:Overground Collective & Madwort's Menagerie
DESCRIPTION:Madwort's Menagerie\nAfter a momentary glimpse in a misfiring big band rehearsal\, Tom Ward has been\nbugged by an overheard snippet of a weird quartet comprising bass clarinet\, flute\,\ntrumpet and trombone. Transmogrifying some of his compositions for sax quartet\,\nhybridising this with his free improv duo Ti/om and finally balancing woodwind\, brass\nand strings with the addition of a cello\, Tom is proud to present Madwort's\nMenagerie. Featuring some incredible improvising musicians with a full spectrum of\ncredits ranging from the London Improvisers Orchestra through Brass Mask\, the\nOverground Collective\, Quadraceratops and The Imaginary Delta to Sinfonia Cymru\nand the London Tango Orchestra.\n\nTom Ward - bass clarinet\, flute\, composition\nJulie Kjaer - flute\, alto flute\nAlex Bonney - trumpet\nMagnus Dearness - trombone\nAdam Spiers - cello\nTim Fairhall - double bass\n\nOverground Collective\n\nPaulo Dias Duarte is an award-winning Portuguese composer\, based in London since\n2003. Paulo’s compositions mix styles and frame musical clichés in very unusual way\,\nguiding audiences through rarely-visited musical fields. The Overground Collective is\nan unorthodox big band composed of some of the wildest improvisers on the London\njazz scene. The combination of Paulo’s music and these improvisers makes each\nconcert a unique experience.\n\nGuitar/composition – Paulo Dias Duarte\n\nAlto saxophone/soprano/flute – Chris Williams\nAlto saxophone/flute/piccolo – Julie Kjaer\nTenor saxophone – Rachel Musson\nTenor saxophone – Dan Mays\nBass clarinet – Tom Ward\nBaritone saxophone – Joseph Stout\n\nTrumpet – Noel Langley\nTrumpet – Yazmeen Ahmed\nTrumpet – Andre Canniere\nTrumpet – Henry Spencer\n\nTrombone – Paul Taylor\nTrombone – Ed Reiband\nTrombone – Raph Clarkson\nBass Trombone – Olivir Haylett\nTuba – Ben Kelly\n\nBass – Ben Bastin\nKeyboards – Danny Keane\nDrums – Jon Scott
