SUMMARY:Bruno Heinen / Kristian Borring / Alex Davis / Pat Davey
DESCRIPTION:Bruno Heinen\, piano\nKristian Borring\, guitar\nAlex Davis\, bass\nPat Davey\, drums\n\nBruno Heinen is a London based contemporary pianist\, composer and bandleader. His recent endeavours include collaborations with Julian Siegel\, Martin Speake\, Byron Wallen and Christian Brewer. Bruno studied classical piano at the Royal College of music with the then head of keyboard Andrew Ball and then went on to win prizes from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the Countess of Munster Trust to take his Jazz masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studied under John Taylor. Bruno was asked to stay on at the Guildhall as a Junior Fellow where he completed a Masters of Musical Performance. Bruno now teaches Jazz harmony to the classical piano students at the Guildhall every year as well as leading small bands made up of Jazz Undergraduates.\n\n“Heinen sounds like the kind of erudite and curious new arrival destined to make a real difference.” John Fordham – The Guardian\n\nDanish born Kristian Borring has built his name as a skillful guitarist with great melodic sense and sophisticated harmonic understanding\, equally mastering the standard repertoire as well as original material. Kristian is currently working on his second album\, set to be released during early 2014. The recording is meant as a personal homage to the experience of the life in a metropolis and will released on Yellymould. It features an outstanding lineup of some of the UK’s most exciting jazz musicians: Jim Hart (vib)\, Arthur Lea (pno)\, Mick Coady (bs) and Jon Scott (dr). The band toured in late 2012 before recording and packed out the Hoxton venue\, Charlie Wright’s\, for their appearance at the London Jazz Festival.\n\nA guitarist of enormous technical ability who utilizes his considerable gifts thoughtfully and tastefully”\, (Ian Mann\, The Jazz Mann)\n\nAlex Davis is a student of the academy who has already amassed an impressive resume; in 2010 he joined the Nu Civilisation Orchestra despite only having played the double bass for 6 months. He was playing with the Abram Wilson Quartet in 2011 and 2012.\n\nPatrick Davey is a jazz drummer who is much in demand. The Guardian described his playing as 'beautifully judged' as part of Phronesis\, whose 2010 album ‘Alive’ was chosen as 'jazz album of the year' by Mojo and Jazzwise. Patrick is also a swinger\, playing regularly with The Puppini Sisters and not afraid to don a trilby and bash out the Gene Krupa beats for top swing band King Candy And The Sugar Push\, who've played everywhere from Ronnie Scotts to The Royal Albert Hall.\n\n
