SUMMARY:Mopomoso
DESCRIPTION:This monthʼs Mopomoso programme of free improvised music features\nmusicianʼs from Japan\, Belgium\, France and the UK in three contrasting and\ninspiring trios. Run entirely by volunteers Mopomoso plays host to the UKʼs longest\nrunning concert series dedicated to free improvisation.\n\nYoko Miura (piano) / Jean Michel van Shouwburg (voice) / Lawrence Casserley (electronics) trio\n\nTokyo based Yoko Miura plays a music of poise and elegance that reflects\nher feelings on the natural world. With live sound manipulations from the ever\nattentive (and inventive) Casserley\, the whole is annotated by the vocal\npyrotechnics of van Schouwburg. A welcome return for three fine musicians\nwho perform for the first time at Mopomoso as a trio.\n\nAnthony Donovan (electric bass\,electronics) / Matt Chilton (electronics) / Nuora Sanatian (violin) trio\n\nFollowing on from a short and delightful spot at the Mopomoso Christmas\nparty last year\, and after some diary juggling\, we are delighted to finally\nannounce the return of this excellent group. With the acoustic ʻpurityʼ of the\nviolin and the low resonances of the bass guitar effortlessly framed by the\nsubtle use of electronics they create a very personal sonic universe for us to\nshare.\n\nGuylaine Cosseron (voice) / Phil Minton (voice) / John Russell (guitar) trio\n\nMaking a return visit to Mopomoso\, this trio takes the human voice to quite\nremarkable levels of expression. Interweaving all manner of vocal sounds\nwith the steel string sonorities of the guitar to great effect. Theres is an\nengaging and all encompassing music that draws the listener into a very\nhuman and deeply rewarding listening experience.\n\n
