DESCRIPTION:When “Racconti Mediterranei” (Mediterranean Tales) was released by Egea records at the beginning of the last decade\, a lot of people made a lot of noise. The CD gave us a chamber ensemble characterised by refined and evocative sounds.\n\nIn 2014\, the Pieranunzi Trio will give life to the “New Mediterranean Tales”\, renewing the narrative intensity of the music\, magically balanced between Mediterranean mèlos and delicate improvisations.\n\nEnrico Pieranunzi\, piano\nGabriele Mirabassi\, clarinet\nGeoff Gascoyne\, bass\n\nFusing classical piano techniques with that of jazz\, Italy’s 'jazz poet'\, pianist & composer Enrico Pieranunzi\, is described as having intense lyricism\, while not losing that ability to swing with energy and freshness.\n\nClarinet player Gabriele Mirabassi is one of the greatest international virtuosos.
