DESCRIPTION:Sound of Yell\, named after the body of water surrounding the Shetland isle\, are a unique ensemble exploring the space where folk and jazz meet. The group is led by Stevie Jones (Arab Strap\, Alasdair Roberts and Friends\, El Hombre Trajeado). Augmenting Jones' fingerstyle guitar compositions for this rare\, full band set are an exciting and broad ranging collection of some of Glasgow's finest musicians:\n\nStevie Jones (Arab Strap\, Alasdair Roberts and Friends\, El Hombre Trajeado)\, guitar\nAlex Neilson\, drums\nStevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian)\, guitar\nAby Vulliamy (National Jazz Trio of Scotland)\, violin\nPeter Nicholson (Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra/The One Ensemble)\, cello\nVikki Morton (Muscles of Joy)\nAlex South (The One Ensemble/Scottish Clarinet Quartet)\, clarinet\nRafe Fitzpatrick (Alasdair Roberts and Friends)\, violin\nGeorgina McGeown (Issho Taiko Drummers)\, percussion\n\nThis show will coincide with the release of Sound of Yell's debut album Brocken Spectre on Chemikal Underground Recordings.\n\n"Spellbinding... politely bastardises elements of folk\, jazz and acoustic psychedelia" The Herald\n\nPeter Nicholson will also play a solo set of songs and improvisations using cello and voice\n\n
