DESCRIPTION:Directed by Scott Stroman\, the London Jazz Orchestra has been described as “as fine a band as you can find anywhere” (The Independent).\n\nKenny Wheeler\, who died in September\, was one of the world's most original and inspiring writers of modern big-band jazz\, creating an instantly recognisable\, rich\, lyrical and uplifting sound. Ken was a founder member of the (new) London Jazz Orchestra when it was created in 1991\, and his playing and writing have influenced several generations of composer-soloists that make up this uniquely ambitious and dedicated band.\n\nFor this special celebration\, the LJO celebrate Ken with a full concert of his music featuring soloists Henry Lowther\, Martin Speake\, Alec Dankworth\, Pete Hurt\, Paul Clarvis\, and many others.\n\nThe LJO's recent gigs have been sell-outs\, and the club has limited space\, so please book in advance.\n\nDoors 3pm\nOn stage 3.30pm
