How do musicians communicate without visual cues?\n\nThe ensemble:\nJackie Walduck\, artistic director - vibraphone\nViyki Turnbull - artist\nAdrian Lee - guitar\nBen Markland - double bass\nJames Risdon - recorder\nMatt Wadsworth - theorbo\nJulian West - oboe\n\n8.00: Doors\n\n8.15: Talks from Jackie Walduck\, Viyki Turnbull and the musicians introducing the creative process and sharing examples of the sketches and tactile scores produced throughout rehearsals\n\n9.00: Performance\n\nProgramme to include:\n\nArthur's Call - Jackie Walduck.\nIntroducing Tactile\, the ensemble\, the piece works on aural cues\, which trigger beginnings and endings of improvised sections of music. "Arthur" refers to King Arthur\, whose Englishness infuses the opening vibraphone material\, giving way to a broader musical language\, bestowed by the members of the band.\n\nShore Line - Jackie Walduck.\nTactile score of fishing line\, feathers\, beads and wire. Shore line was inspired by Stockhausen's text piece Upwards Rain\, and the shingle beaches at the Baie de Somme in France\, which were also quite rainy this summer.
