DESCRIPTION:For this special show\, Emilia has assembled a starry line-up\, including musicians known for their work with John Newman\, London Vocal Project\, Cinematic Orchestra\, Snowpoet and more.\n\nEmilia Mårtensson is a London based Swedish/Slovenian vocalist and composer of repute. Since graduating from Trinity College\,of music in 2007\, Emilia has built a well-deserved reputation as one of the most exciting young vocalists on the UK Jazz scene. Her gently expressive voice and highly personal compositions are firmly rooted within the folklore and countryside of her native southern Sweden\, adding to the mystique and allure of a distinctive and truly original artist.\n\nHer critically acclaimed contributions (both as vocalist and lyricist) to jazz’s newest stars Kairos 4Tet no doubt helped them bring home a 2011 MOBO Award\, while her distinctive voice led The Observer to deem her ‘The New Face of British Jazz 2012′. On her album ‘Ana’\, Mårtensson continues to blur the lines between Jazz/Folk and Alt-Pop and demonstrates her constant evolution as both a songwriter and performer. She retains tender poignant tones with powerful observations of human nature through her lyrics.\n\n \n\nFirst set: Adriano Adewale (percussion)\, Nick Costley-White (guitar)\n\nSecond set:\nEmilia is joined by lots of different guests: Heidi Vogel (voice)\, Sam Crowe (piano)\, Adam Waldmann (saxophone)\, Matt Robinson (piano)\, Chris Hyson (bass)\, Fini Bearman (voice) and perhaps a few more.

SUMMARY:THE IMMERSION PROJECT
DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe Immersion Project is lead by London based Jazz singer and MD Cassandra Gurling. Cassandra mixes electronic progressive melodies\, rootsy bass lines\, soulful haunting jazz vocals and ethnic rhythms.  Cassandra Gurling aims to create ‘a musical experience for the listener that provides a personal emotional exploration\, this is music that I hope people can become lost in’. Prominent London Jazz musicians will be performing Cassandra’s compositions including; Mulele Matondo Afrika on Guitar\, Al MacSween on Keys\, Stefano Ancora on drums\, Louis Sasse on bass\, Gian Luca Lanzi on Trombone and backing vocals from Kristy Clarke. \n\n
