DESCRIPTION:A unique chance for a double bill by two of our newer generation pianists\, and regulars at the Vortex. Not just pianists\, but also thoughtful guys - both are actually currently working towards doctorates on jazz! And also musicians taking forward a great legacy of British/European jazz piano\, which extends onwards from the likes of George Shearing\, Django Bates and John Taylor (of whom Sam and Bruno were students).\n\nSam Leak is known for his work with Aquarium\, his big band and more recently with pianist Dan Tepfer.\n\nBruno Heinen has released albums reworking Stockhausen's Tierkreis and Bill Evans. Most recently\, he has recorded his new work updating Vivaldi for Camerata Alma Viva.
