DESCRIPTION:The Vortex is delighted to showcase the SPARK label\, which is home to exciting musicians from the latest generation of jazz and creative music artists. Tom Green Septet and Angus Bayley's Scrapbook are among its artists\, and will play a double bill with guests from the Label's roster.\n\nEvan Parker classes Trombonist and composer Tom Green among "the very best arrangers" and Dame Cleo Laine praises his as "some of the most original music i have heard for a long time". Green's acclaimed septet will make their debut at the Vortex having beguiled audiences across the UK during a multi-date tour in support of their debut album Skyline\, which was released in 2015.\n\nAngus Bayley launched his debut album Scrapbook at the Vortex in September to a sell-out crowd. We are glad to welcome him back after a UK tour in support of the album.\n\nAs well as Angus and Tom's groups\, this showcase will have exclusive previews of music from groups signed for releases in 2017. These guest artists will be announced shortly.\n\nSPARK Label was established in 2014 by musicians JJ Wheeler and Tom Green.
