SUMMARY:TAUPE - ALBUM LAUNCH + DEEMER
DESCRIPTION:The Tyneside Trio\, now split between Newcastle\, Manchester and Edinburgh and comprising Jamie Stockbridge on Alto Sax\, Mike Parr-Burman on Guitar and Adam Stapleford on Drum Kit\, enlisted the wisdom of experimental music legend and all-round top guy Chris Sharkey (TrioVD\, Shiver\, Acoustic Ladyland) to produce the record\, a follow-up to their eponymous 2014 debut which was featured on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction and led to a run of performances at jazz festivals and rock clubs the length and breadth of the country.\n\nThe album refines Taupe's metrically explorative constructions and avant-bop melodies\, and juxtaposes this with increasingly brave interactive improvisations and sonic explorations. In so doing\, Taupe cite influences from South Indian Carnactic music\, the pounding polyrhythms of Meshuggah\, the math-bop grooving of Steve Coleman’s M-Base movement and mischievous stompbox noise-wranglings.\n\nFill Up Your Lungs and Bellow is available to pre-order now on Bandcamp and will be released on CD and digital download on 24 February 2017.\n\nA Clown Drools\, the first track on the new album\, is also available to stream now in the same place\, and will be released as a video single this month.\n\n \n\nFill Up Your Lungs and Bellow by taupe\n\nDEEMER\n\nDeemer is a continuing conversation that is always inquisitive\, searching and fresh. We are constantly shedding old skin\, evolving and innovating.\n\nThe brain-child of Merijn Royaards and Dee Byrne\, Deemer started life in 2006 and has since evolved into an installation/performance based electro-acoustic two-piece orchestra\, whose aural narratives are created within fluid frameworks that map a trajectory in time\, but leave the sonic textures and compositions entirely free and undetermined. Deemer employ\, among other things\, alto saxophone\, analogue electronics\, synths\, drum machines\, filters\, effects and TV monitors\, to instantly compose\, activate space\, and blur the boundaries between free jazz and sound installation.\n\nDeemer will be joined on the night by guitarist Ed Riches\, expanding into an unfathomable trio.\n\nLISTEN:\nhttps://deemertronics.bandcamp.com/album/interference-patterns
