He is a member of the prestigious “El Sistema” National Orchestras of Venezuela\, and has also served as an oboe player in state orchestras and in the Simon Bolivar Symphonic Orchestra.  As a singer\, he has founded such renowned groups as Ensamble Saúl Vera\, Arcano\, Alzheimer and Trabuco – group with which he featured in a session for the BBC Radio 3 programme ‘World Routes’.\n\nOver the course of his career\, Rafael has shared a stage with such personalities of Venezuelan music as Simon Diaz\, Aldemaro Romero\, Gilberto Santa Rosa\, Soledad Bravo\, Cheo Hurtado\, Alexis Cardenas\, Bobby Valentín\, Aquiles Báez\, Cecilia Todd\, Gualberto Ibarreto\, María Rivas\, Oscar D’León\, Aymée Nuviola\, Felipe Peláez\, Chuchito Sanoja\, among others.\n\nRafael has represented Venezuela on a world stage\, showcasing his talents as a cuatro player and singer in concert halls in Germany\, Argentina\, Belgium\, Chile\, China\, Colombia\, Cuba\, USA\, Guatemala\, Honduras\, Britain\, Japan\, Mexico\, Panama\, Peru\, Trinidad and Tobago\, the Dominican Republic\, Aruba\, Spain\, France and Switzerland.
