DESCRIPTION:"Mark Pringle is an exceptionally gifted pianist and composer\, and a remarkable improviser" - John Taylor\, 2015\n\nThis collaborative European quartet has been brought together especially for a tour of the UK this autumn. Consisting of musicians from Portugal\, Sweden and the UK\, the group’s original compositions take influence from Berlin’s creative music scenes\, Scandinavian folksong and swing.\n\nLine up:\nTobias Andersson - Guitar\nMark Pringle - Piano\nJames Banner - Double Bass\nJoão Lopes Pereira - Drums\n\nhttps://youtu.be/8qfZO32RHoE\n\n \n\nMark Pringle is a pianist who first played at the Vortex with his original teacher\, John Law. He is a Yamaha Jazz Scholar and Peter Whittingham Award winner\, and has performed his own music at the Proms Late Series for BBC Radio 3\, Manchester Jazz Festival\, The Vortex\, Southbank Centre and many more prominent venues across Europe. He currently lives in Berlin.\n\nAs a leader and sideman in diverse artistic projects Europe-wide\, Mark is often found straddling genre boundaries to create music uniquely his own - notably his twelve-piece large ensemble A Moveable Feast\, London Sinfonietta oboist Melinda Maxwell’s classical/improv group\, a freewheeling duo with trumpeter Tom Syson\, an improvised solo project\, pan-European trio Nighthawks\, and numerous collaborative settings internationally. He has also performed classical works\, most notably Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time.\n\nMark owes a great deal to the extraordinary musicians and creative minds he was fortunate to encounter during his conservatoire studies in Berlin\, Copenhagen\, Paris\, Amsterdam and Birmingham - John Taylor\, Greg Cohen\, Søren Kjærgaard\, Liam Noble and Harmen Fraanje to name just a few.\n\nThey gratefully acknowledge the support of Arts Council England and the National Lottery in helping to fund this activity.\n\nPlease note: the concert by Twelves is postponed.
