SUMMARY:Tom Ridout Debut Album Launch - “No Excuses”
DESCRIPTION:\nAward winning saxophonist\, recorder player\, composer and arranger Tom Ridout was predicted by Jazzwise Magazine in 2012 as an upcoming jazz musician to watch out for. A recent graduate from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music\, finalist in the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2016\,Tom is a prolific composer who fronts his own bands playing his original compositions.\nThe No Excuses band features an up to 13 piece ensemble consisting of the Quintet (sax/recorder\, guitar\, piano\, bass\, drums) with added second guitar\, string quartet and brass trio (flugelhorn\, french horn and trombone).The influences for this album come from a wide range of musical sources including; jazz\, folk\, 60s rock/pop and 20th century tonal classical.\nThe first set will be played by the Quintet and the second set will be a live rendition of the album\, from start to finish\, with the whole band.\nThe band line-up for tonight is:\nTom Ridout – Saxophones and Recorders\nBilly Marrows– Guitars\nWill Barry – Piano and Rhodes\nFlo Moore – Electric Basses\nPhelan Burgoyne – Drums\nNick Fitch – Guitar\nAnastasia Stahlmann – Lead Violin\nDom Ingham– 2nd Violin\nBarbara Gumenaite – Viola\nCecilia Bignall – ‘Cello\nAlexandra Ridout – Flugel and Trumpet\nAnna Drysdale – French Horn\nElliot Pooley – Trombone
