SUMMARY:Anton Eger
DESCRIPTION:Anton Eger drums\n\nDan Nicholls (Squarepusher\, Goldie\, Arve Henriksen\, Strobes) keyboards\n\nMatt Calvert (Three Trapped Tigers\, Heritage Orchestra\, MD for Goldie´s live band) guitar and keyboards \n\nRobin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier\, Eska\, Zero 7) electric bass\n\nJoin us for what promises to be a hair-raising and explosive world premiere. Having gained notoriety for his tendency to exchange drumsticks for pilfered knives\, it should perhaps come as no surprise that Swedish-Norwegian drummer Anton Eger has made his mark as one of the most cutting-edge musicians in all of Europe. In fact\, it’s fair to say that few drummers can match the technique and drive of Eger\, who has spent the past decade building a following through performances with heavyweight European contenders Phronesis and Marius Neset — two bands that have contributed\, in their own way\, to Eger’s vibrant style and restless pursuit of innovation.\n\nNow\, 2018 sees the formation of Anton Eger ́s band\, which features an all-star lineup of British musicians poised to demonstrate that the hype is no accident\, and to move Eger’s prolific writing skills center stage. This performance serves as an exclusive first glimpse into Eger’s debut solo album — composed largely throughout California — which he describes as “an eclectic genre-defying mix of electronica\, hardcore contemporary beats and retro musical guilty pleasures.”\n\n++ debut album to be released February 8th 2019 on Edition Records.\n\n \n\n"Anton Eger - the champion flyweight among drummers" -\n\nIvan Hewett\, The Telegraph\n\n"His brilliantly theatrical solos consistently drew the largest ovations of the evening. Splitting beats into improbable but mathematically precise fractions." -\n\nBrian Payne\, Jazz Journal\n\n".... but it was Anton Eger's technically dazzling\, beautifully structured drum solo on the trio encore that really captured the evening." -\n\nMike Hobart\, Financial Times\n\n[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEAvORAqG2c&feature=youtu.be[/embed]\n\n \n\n
