SUMMARY:Cable Street Collective - 'Where Now From Here' EP Launch Party (Until Late)
DESCRIPTION:Schedule of events:\nAnimanz 9pm\nCable Street Collective 10:30pm\nDJs 12am t0 2am\nLocal band Cable Street Collective are about to release their second EP - Where Now From Here? The record follows up on their well-received debut\, 2014’s The Best of Times\, which attracted critical acclaim and airtime on BBC Radio 6Music. In the intervening years they’ve spent their summers tearing up the festival circuit with sets at the likes of Bestival\, Secret Garden Party\, The Isle of Wight Festival\, Boomtown Fair and theLake of Stars Festival (Malawi). Their music mixes African-influenced guitars with dance music beats to create upbeat\, festival-friendly tunes. They are taking over Vortex Jazz Bar for the evening\, bringing down friends Animanz and DJ Cal Jader for the party. Described as HipFunkAfroLatinHop\, an Animanz show is a safari through the dense urban jungle into a myotropic world of groove\, energy & exhilaration. Most recently Animanz have been spotted with the TROPICAL FLAME\, Juanita Euka\, holding centre stage as mistress of ceromonies. They are conjuring up an album. Cal Jader is one of the musical activists\, founders and original 'dancehall caballeros' behind London cultural protagonists Movimientos. With his trademark blend of red hot 'classico' latin beats\, uptempo carnival rhythms\, tropical bass\, and fresh global sounds he is helping to soundtrack the thriving underground scene with residencies across the capital.\n\nOn Cable Street Collective: “Their music grooves like a bastard.” Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music; BBC Introducing) "When they start playing\, they bring the sunshine" John Kennedy (RadioX Xposure)\n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/LR0gJpNnCA4[/embed]\n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/Cueis_6HZpU[/embed]
