SUMMARY:Jazz Alloy 3
DESCRIPTION:The third Jazz Alloy collaboration is a young jazz combo of three astonishing artists. No one in London could have missed the last and praised album “Halftime” by the saxophone player and composer Rachael Cohen. She is one of the brightest emerging stars of her generation and has been described by The Guardian with a tone reminiscent of Lee Konitz. "The quietness is deceptive and the subtlety is in the weighting of phrases and the hipness with which she plays off the rhythm section.”\n\nYoung talent Leo Lindberg was born in Stockholm in 1993 and raised in a musical environment. Deeply into jazz since an early age\, he excels at piano and organ and has worked with many of the local heavies. He has performed with legendary bassist Henry Grimes in Sweden as well as the US. In 2014 he released his first album "Leo's Bag" which received great reviews.\n\nAward winning Istanbul born drummer and composer Robert Mehmet Ikiz has toured and held workshops in all over the world with artists & bands like Nils Landgren Funk Unit\, Joe Sample\, Bobby McFerrin\, Barbara Hendricks\, Ivan Lins\, BBC Orchestra\, NDR Big Band and many other bands and orchestras.\n\nIkiz is based in Stockholm/Sweden and has received 3 awards from the Swedish Royal Music Academy and was chosen "Musician of the year" by the Swedish Radio in 2017.\n\nThis format of musical labs is a unique experience for both audience and musicians and has been created from the most interesting and forward-thinking Swedish and UK music innovators. All concerts are hosted by the UK-based and award-winning Swedish vocalist Emilia Mårtensson. The series of totally 6 concerts is organised by Musikcentrum Öst/Sweden\, the Vortex Jazz Club and Emilia Mårtensson in collaboration with The Embassy of Sweden\, EFG London Jazz Festival and Svensk Jazz. Jazz Alloy is supported by Musikverket.\n\n \n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/SgECqq7hyxY[/embed]
