DESCRIPTION:Red Kite is a sextet led by pianist Esben Tjalve joined by the highly skilled musicians and seasoned lights of the UK jazz scene; Rory Simmons (trumpet)\, Ross Hughes (bass clarinet)\, Hannes Riepler (guitar)\, Ferg Ireland (bass) and Tim Giles (drums).\n\nThe music is a seamless blend of electronic and acoustic sounds set in a jazz format combining the complex with accessibility and the composed with the improvised. The compositions create a musical universe that varies from cinematic meditative soundscapes to groovy tunes with reminiscent echoes of Miles Davis’ “Bitches Brew”.
