DESCRIPTION:Chris Montague - Guitar\nKit Downes - Piano\nRuth Goller - Bass\n\n‘Warmer than blood’ is the new trio project from composer and guitarist Chris Montague (Troyka\, Squarepusher). It brings together ECM recording artist and pianist Kit Downes\, and electric bassist Ruth Goller (Acoustic Ladyland\, Melt Yourself Down\, Let Spin) to play music composed by Montague which combines intricate textures\, dark pools of harmony\, layered melodies\, kinetic group improvisation and percussive prepared piano. The unusual and fresh mix of instruments has motivated these well established players to find new ways to combine sounds and draw often contradictory elements together.\n\nFractious composed passages can inhabit the same sonic space as spare\, ambient melodies\, often described as melancholic and uplifting at the same time. When asked about this new band Montague said\, “no-one knows my music or how I write like Kit does. From the years we have spent playing together (over a decade) we have developed a strong sense of each others sound\, and Ruth is one of the most exciting bassists around\, she has a completely unique approach and feel\, which I love playing with”.\n\nThis forward looking trio is set to record its debut album in March 2019 in London.
