They will be deciding on the day what instruments to use so it could be a mix of acoustic and electric guitars with Alex’s clarinet somewhere in there as well. It might be all acoustic or electric. Whatever the instrumentation  it will be a lot of fun!\n\n \n\n \n

SUMMARY:PATRICK CORNELIUS' ACADIA W/ KRISTJAN RANDALU\, MICHAEL JANISCH\, PAUL WILTGEN
DESCRIPTION: \n\nNew York-based saxophonist and composer Patrick Cornelius reunites with longtime collaborators Michael Janisch (bass)\, Kristjan Randalu (piano)\, and Paul Wiltgen (drums) to present a brand new musical adventure: Acadia. Ten years after last touring Europe as The TransAtlantic Collective (a collaborative ensemble that criss-crossed the UK and Mainland Europe for four years\, paving the way for many like-minded 'collective' bands to follow in its footsteps)\, these four internationally-renowned artists (boasting a musical kinship which spans 20 years) will assemble once again to realize brand new music inspired by the wonder and beauty of the living planet.\n\n \n\nSaxophonist Patrick Cornelius has been called “dynamic” (The Guardian)\, “Self-Assured” (The New York Times)\, “Bold and Gifted” (All About Jazz)\, and “A Talent Worth Watching” (JazzWise Magazine) over the span of his six solo and two co-led album releases. Repeatedly listed among the Downbeat Critics Poll’s “Rising Stars\,” and multiply-awarded for his compositional savvy\, he has become an important fixture in the New York contemporary music world and a repeat visitor to and admirer of the thriving British Jazz Scene.\n\n \n\nInternational jazz bass virtuoso\, MOBO award nominee\, and visionary founder of the exciting and eclectic Whirlwind Recordings imprint Michael Janisch is the driving force behind countless creative endeavors. As a bassist tour-de-force\, he has anchored the jazz ensembles of everyone from Lee Konitz and Wynton Marsalis to Walter Smith\, Ingrid Jensen and Alex Garnett\, and has released five albums as a leader. Estonian pianist and ECM recording artist Kristjan Randalu was hailed as “dazzling” by none other than Herbie Hancock\, “engrossing” by JazzTimes\, and “breathtaking” by Dowbeat Magazine. He has become a virtuosic sensation throughout Europe\, having performed on over 40 albums. The accomplished Luxembourgish drummer and percussionist Paul Wiltgen has split time between New York City and Europe since first coming to The Big Apple in 2001. He was one of the three founding members of The TransAtlantic Collective (along with Cornelius and Janisch)\, and of the popular Reis/Demuth/Wiltgen trio\, whose collaborators include saxophone superstar Joshua Redman and Grammy-winning conductor Vince Mendoza.\n\n \n\nDon’t miss this chance to catch the reunion of this electrifying original working ensemble\, reimagined with a new direction\, and for fans of the TransAtlantic Collecitve\, they might even throw in one of the old favorites...
