DESCRIPTION:Line-up\nJoy Ellis – Piano\n\nAmy Baldwin - Double Bass\n\nAdam Osmianski - Drums\n\n \nAbout\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoy Ellis is a jazz pianist\, singer and composer based in London and an alumni of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She has toured all over the UK supported by the Arts Council\, England performing her original music at various venues and festivals including Manchester\, Cheltenham and London Jazz Festivals and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.\n\nRecorded at the end of May 2021 with long-time collaborators Henrik Jensen on double bass and Adam Osmianski on drums\, her new third album\, entitled ‘Peaceful Place’\, features Joy’s compositions reflecting on a turbulent and difficult year. Joy writes: “Moving through the pandemic I felt there were no words I could sing to capture the grief and sense of loss that I and other people I know had experienced. Therefore I decided to compose an album with no vocals at all using my other instrument and first love\, the piano.”\n\nThe release of this album is generously supported by the Help Musicians Do It Differently Fund.\n\n\n'Compelling melodies and an introspective north European feel; delicate\, intimate - no notes are wasted in its pared-back sound’  John Bungay\, London Jazz News\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
