Often overshadowed by her son Nick Drake whom for many has become a cult figure; Molly’s rich sound-world poignantly reflects a bygone era of song writing. Fronted by award-winning Irish vocalist Lauren Kinsella (Snowpoet)\, this new quintet features some of the U.K’s most in demand musicians; James Kitchman\, (guitar) Riley Stone Lonergan\, (sax) Andrea Di Biase\, (bass) and Phelan Burgoyne (drums) each bringing their unique sensitivities to explore and expand on the music of Molly Drake.\n\n“Molly Drake was a remarkable voice as a composer\, drawing on influences of her time but truly an original with a lyricism and longing that has a universal connection. This performance of jazz infused arrangements liberates Drake’s work from the straitjacket of historical imitation to finding the essential musical truth in her work.
