SUMMARY:Elina Duni & Rob Luft feat. Fred Thomas (1st show)
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7pm\, music 7.30pm\n \nLine-up:\nElina Duni - Voice\n\nRob Luft - Guitar\n\nFred Thomas - Piano\, Drums\n\n \nAbout\nElina Duni and Rob Luft’s programme of songs of love and exile has been gathering momentum since 2017\, when the Albanian-Swiss singer and the British guitarist began their collaboration. Along the way the duo has been augmented by several distinguished guests\, with multi-instrumentalist Fred Thomas making a significant contribution to the overarching concept. The migration crisis\, a theme explored on Elina’s earlier album Partir\, is again a central issue\, so too are ecological concerns. Material is drawn from many sources: “There are songs that touch upon past influences\, with the sound of Albania and Mediterranean folklore ever-present. We wanted to explore other musical roots\, too: timeless jazz ballads\, French chanson\, American folk song…” The broad range of music addressed runs from traditional pieces to original compositions\, via songs made famous by Frank Sinatra and Charles Aznavour. Lost Ships was recorded in Avignon in February 2020 and released on the legendary German record label ECM Records in November 2020 to widespread critical acclaim. It was subsequently nominated in the ‘Album of the Year’ category of the German Jazz Prize in 2021.\n\n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/Y60b-29dsBc[/embed]\n\n \n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/ODHCFcnXD5w[/embed]

SUMMARY:[LATE NIGHT] Human Being Human (T. Bjørnskov\, E. Tjalve & F. Bülow) - Album Launch
DESCRIPTION:Doors 11pm\, music 11.30pm\nAlbum release concert Human Being human "Equals"\nLine-up:\nEsben Tjalve - Piano / Keys\n\nTorben Bjørnskov - Double bass\n\nFrederik Bülow - Drums\nAbout\nHuman Being Human sonically explores and challenges the acoustic jazz trio. With elements of electronica and ambient landscapes\, the trio's sound universe and possibilities are expanded.\nThe trio's main elements are depth\, humor and presence. The heart of the music is at the forefront along with the interplay and curiosity. The trio's compositional basis is to create a musical platform where the music can unfold with equal parts of improvisation\, grooves and moods. The music of the trio has cinematic landscapes as well as images of intense cacophony. Inspiration equals from Bach's counterpoint to swampy soul jazz but with the melodic and melancholic tone of Scandinavia at its core.\n \n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/A6Bo1-E7nd0[/embed]
