DESCRIPTION:Doors 7.45pm\, music 8.30pm\n\n \nLine-up:\nIneza - Voice\n\nAlex Webb - Piano\n\nHamish Moore - Double Bass\n\nKatie Patterson - Drums\n\n \nAbout\nPeggy Lee\, Billie Holiday\, Betty Carter and Abbey Lincoln weren’t just great jazz vocalists – they were also songwriters\, who contributed some key works to the canon.  In Women’s Words\, Sisters Stories\, vocalist Ineza and the Alex Webb Trio explore the repertoire penned by the great female songstresses – Billie’s Tell Me More\, Peggy’s It’s a Good Day\, Abbey’s Throw it Away\, Betty Carter's Tight and many more\, including poet Fran Landesman’s classic lyric Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most.  And bringing it up to date are songs by Jazzmeia Horn\, Cecile Mclorin Salvant and Rachelle Ferrell.  And a some carefully-chosen works from the Great American Songbook co-composed by female lyricists too - such as The Way You Look Tonight and Good Morning Heartache.\n\nIneza is a Rwandan-born Belgian Jazz singer\, based in London. She is a graduate of both Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance\, and Maastricht Conservatoire in The Netherlands.  Ineza was one of only eight artists to be awarded a place at the second edition of artist development program LEAP organized by international music producers Serious. She is also a passionate educator\, and next to her work as a singing teacher she has been involved in various workshop-leading projects.  Alex Webb is a pianist\, arranger and songwriter with a long history of working with leading jazz vocalists; his songs have been recorded by Liane Carroll\, China Moses\, Jo Harrop\, Allan Harris\, Cherise\, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and many others.\n\n \n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/KFX7kfc14R0[/embed]
