SUMMARY:ENEMY (Downes / Eldh / Maddren)
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:45 PM\, Music 8:30 PM\, 2 sets of music\n \nLine-up:\nKit Downes - Piano\n\nPetter Eldh - Bass\n\nJames Maddren – Drums\n\n \nAbout\n\nKit Downes joins forces with long-time collaborators Petter Eldh on bass and James Maddren on drums for a carefully assorted piano trio programme that treads gentle lyricism and bold creative outbursts in equal measures. ENEMY\, who recorded their debut album 'ENEMY' for Edition Records back in 2018\, now carve out some of their most compendious pieces to date on their recent ECM release 'Vermillion'. Replete with subtle twists and turns\, the trio offers its idiosyncratic take on the piano trio format\, producing unexpected harmonic alterations and animate rhythmic flashes as they flesh out distinct musical forms. Recorded at the Auditorio Stelio Molo in Lugano with Manfred Eicher\, the three-piece outlines a unique design for this instrumentation in clear-cut interplay and creates a profound study of Kit Downes’ broad musical imagination in the process. Now working on their third recording (for the WeJazz label) they are re-embracing their previous intense and technicolor approach with a new programme.\n\n \n\n[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEn4Hsv5SrY[/embed]
