SUMMARY:Liam Noble/Fini Bearman/George Crowley
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:45 PM\, Music 8:30 PM - 2 set(s) of music\n \nLine-up:\nLiam Noble - Piano\nFini Bearman - Vocals\nGeorge Crowley - Tenor Saxophone\nAbout\nJoin us for a very special evening featuring three of London's finest musicians in trio together for the first time.\n\nFor more than two decades pianist Liam Noble has been a key figure on the vibrant British Jazz scene\, both as a sideman and leader. Throughout his rich career\, Noble’s compositional eye for structure and versatility as an artist has allowed him to explore longer compositional forms and unorthodox improvisational structures in the 2001 record “In the Meantime” as well as marking a new foray into electronica in 2002 in a commission from Birmingham Jazz based on Japanese Death Poetry. He has released 2 albums with free improv trio “Sleepthief” (2008\,20011) and gained further acclaim with the Bobby Wellins Quartet on the 2009 CD “BRUBECK”\, gaining an almost unprecedented 5 star review in The Guardian.\n\nOther artists Noble has performed and recorded with include Phil Robson\, Drew Gress\, Tom Rainey\, Christine Tobin\, Paul Clarvis and Julian Siegel as well as Mary Halverson\, Marc Ducret\, Mat Maneri\, Evan Parker\, Okkyung Lee and Peter Evans. His trio with Chris Bachelor and Shabaka Hutchings also received venerable recognition.\n\nFini Bearman is a London based singer\, songwriter\, composer & multi-instrumentalist\, who has a ‘rare sense of melody running through her eclectic compositions\, full of catchy twists and turns’. Her music melds diverse influences from jazz\, folk and contemporary music into an 'arresting and uniquely personal' sound. Sometimes dealing with settings of poetry and other times original lyrics\, ‘her voice\, effortlessly moves between a light precision and warm soulfulness is unmistakably her own’.\nFini released her 4th album 'La Loba in October 2020 and it has already received much glowing reviews from peers and critics including ****'s from Jazzwise (Editors Choice)\, allaboutjazz\, The Arts Desk (album of the year)\, and more.\n\nGeorge Crowley is a saxophonist\, clarinettist\, composer and promoter based in London.\nSince his arrival in the capital in 2007\, Crowley has steadily established himself as a key player within the city's burgeoning creative jazz and improv scene\, and increasingly well known further afield\, performing across the UK and Europe.\nAs a performer he is active across a range of styles; whether infusing melodic through-composed writing with open\, searching improv in his own Can of Worms\, channelling fiery avant-parade ghosts in Brass Mask\, weaving through the polyrhythmic Ghanaian trance of Vula Viel or exploring more traditional repertoire\, Crowley's energy and expressive\, warm saxophone sound mark him out as a musician who demands attention.\nHe can also be found playing with bands and musicians such as Melt Yourself Down\, Julian Argüelles' Septet\, Yazz Ahmed\, Red Snapper\, the Michael Chillingworth Septet\, Rick Simpson's Klämmer and the Olie Brice Quartet featuring Jeff Williams. Outside of the world of jazz and improvised music he has worked with artists such as Boy George and Culture Club and Mount Kimbie.\n\n\n \n\n[embed][/embed]
