DESCRIPTION:Doors 6:30 PM\, Music 7:30 PM - 1 set(s) of music\n \nLine-up:\nChris Montague - Guitar\n\nTed Morcaldi - Guitar\n\n \nAbout\nThe new guitar duo of Chris Montague and Ted Morcaldi combines two unique voices playing a wide-ranging repertoire. Chris Montague\, a founding member of Troyka\, has gained much acclaim for his contribution to many contemporary recordings as both player and producer. Chris’ new trio ‘Warmer than Blood’ with Kit Downes (ECM) on piano and acclaimed bassist Ruth Goller on bass released its debut album in May 2020 with Whirlwind recordings. New to the UK’s jazz scene\, guitarist Ted Morcaldi has been working the past year leading his new trio which happens to feature another member of Troyka\, Joshua Blackmore on drums. Previously based in NYC\, past recordings and performances from that time include a trio record with Catalan bassist Manel Fortia and drummer Buz Donald. He co-leads an improv group with NY Saxophonist Greg LaPine called ‘Picture of Now’\, which has featured renowned musicians such as Brazilian percussionist Sergio Krakowski\, NYC bassist Kevin Scott (Wayne Krantz\, Gov’t Mule).\n\nTogether Montague and Morcaldi blend electric guitar\, classical guitar and sonic exploration within a broad repertoire from Joni Mitchell and The Beatles\, Bill Frisell and Ralph Towner\, to original compositions and improvisations.\n\n
