DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:45 PM\, Music 8:30 PM - 2 set(s) of music\n \nLine-up:\nBenjy Sandler – Alto Saxophone\n\nJulian Woods – Guitar\, Microtonal Guitar\n\nJulianna Antczak – Cello\n\nAnnie Morris – Tuba\n\nGwilym Jones – Drums\n\n \nAbout\nThe Sandler/Woods Quintet is led by Guildhall School of Music postgraduate students Benjy Sandler and Julian Woods\, who have been united by their mutual interests in chromaticism\, polyphony\, and microtonality.\n\nThe band performs original pieces by Benjy and Julian\, influenced by the likes of Henry Threadgill\, Anthony Braxton\, Gyorgy Ligeti and Pierre Boulez.\n\nThe band also performs Julian's arrangements and adaptations\, including works by 20th century serial composer Anton Webern.\n\nThe quintet made its performance debut on the 14th November 2023 at Milton Court Concert Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival.\n\n \n\n[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IW_UmjTPoI [/embed]
