SUMMARY:VORTEX LATES: DALSTON SONG CLUB W/ CASPER JAMES
DESCRIPTION:Doors 10 PM\, Music 10:30 PM\n \nABOUT\n\n\nOur monthly late night series brings songwriters together to perform in the round\, hosted by Matthew Herd. This month features Casper James and his band\, a gorgeous new voice in country-inspired song from south Wales.\n\nCasper James\n\nFrom the deep South…Wales\, Casper James weaponises his guitar and gritty vocals to journal his internal monologue\, with bittersweet ballads that provide the listener with a consequence-free opportunity to peek into his diary. Casper takes a rolling-thunder approach to the curation of his supporting ensemble - The Corntown Orchestra. Unconventional musician friends that he has met on his journey join in on his performances\, creating a jam-packed stage filled with the honky tonk sound of buddies joined together through the love of country music and storytelling. Expect a wall-of-sound with slide guitars\, harmoniums\, banjos\, mandolins\, maybe a washboard and a pair of spoons…who knows! The Corntown Orchestra is open for anyone\, and celebrates the strangeness of the lives we live behind the curtains.\n\nCasper’s evocative set lists vary depending on the weather and how grumpy it’s making them feel\, so prepare to cry in a corner or grin with nostalgic joy. Either way\, you are guaranteed to be left wondering why this cowboy isn't in therapy yet.\n\nFor fans of: Barbara Keith\, Lucinda Williams\, Loudon Wainwright III\, Adrianne Lenker\, Ryan Adams\, Tanya Tucker\, Neil Young\, and Carole King.\n\n\n
