The Leo Richardson Quartet packs a punch\, performing exciting and intense music heavily influenced by the hard-bop era.\n\nIn 2017\, The Leo Richardson Quartet toured the UK in November-December\, in support of their debut album\, The Chase\, on Ubuntu Music. The album was selected by The Times newspaper as one of the Top 10 Jazz Albums of 2017 and one of the Top 100 Albums of all music genres. The Chase was the first debut album to receive 5 from The Sunday Guardian/Observer. The success of the album and the tour led to the Quartet’s debut performance at the 2018 Love Supreme Jazz Festival. With their shared love for songwriting and improvisation\, the singers intertwine their unique voices with some of the most exciting musicians in the UK.\n\nCombining the influences of a broad range of vocalists\, from Joni Mitchell to Lauren Newton to Blossom Dearie\, this will be an evening of innovative singing\, lyrical anomalies and wild sounds. The Downstairs Living Room series is a rare chance to see the collaboration of two of London's leading jazz vocalists as they bring together their own musical stories in this intimate setting.\n\nThis week features Immy Churchill and musicians from her regular groups.
