Stone-Lonergan\, Simpson\, Hayhurst and Glaser all contribute compositions\, which are all designed to experiment with the freedom of music within the structure of a loose container.\n\nThe music spans a large emotional spectrum from dynamic and spirited exchanges among the group members to expansive blues swagger and powerful collective free blowing that pays homage to legendary avant-garde music movements of the 60s and 70s.\n\nThese four outstanding musicians\, each with distinctive personalities\, generate a compelling sound that traverses a wide spectrum of sound colours\, rhythms\, and moods\, infused with vibrant energy. A new late-night jazz hang for Dalston where you can grab a drink and listen to some of the best improvised musicians from around the city. For only £6\, check out exciting music from a revolving line-up of innovative performers digging into standards and new music alongside DJs spinning vinyl until the early hours. A relaxed atmosphere and an opportunity to be part of the extended Vortex community.\n\nThis time we are joined by a brand new collaboration between 3 of London's most exciting and in demand musicians brought together especially for this London Jazz Festival performance in the more casual setting of the Vortex downstairs bar. Will Barry on Keys (Wynton Marsalis\, Joe Farnsworth)\, Jamie Murray on Drums (Robben Ford\, Guthrie Govan) and Nick Costley-White on Guitar (Alex Garnett\, Brandon Allen).\n\nThey'll be performing music by all three members of the band\, along with tunes inspired by the legendary (and much missed) 55 bar in New York.
