He strives to bring back traditional jazz through his music while incorporating modern knowledge\, skills\, and sounds. His biggest inspirations are artists like Cannonball Adderley\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Kenny Garrett\, Michael Brecker\, and McCoy Tyner. Nikita has performed at various festivals\, including the international festival Visioon\, Tudengijazz\, Jazz Time\, Jazzkaar\, Jazz Across Borders\, and more. In 2018\, he won the Round Table contest-concert. In 2021\, Nikita made his debut with his own ensemble at the Baltics' largest jazz festival\, Jazzkaar. That same year\, he achieved second place in the Uno Naissoo competition with the Mäekalle - Korzoun Duo. In 2023\, his composition “Apfelsoda” secured third place in the same competition\, and he was also nominated for the Estonian Jazz Awards in the Young Jazz Talent category. His work can be heard on his debut album "Count To Three."\n\nIn 2023\, Nikita participated in the IASJ (International Association of Schools of Jazz) conference led by Dave Liebman\, where he honed his skills by playing and learning with some of the most talented musicians from around the world. He has studied and performed with renowned musicians such as Dave Liebman\, Jukkis Uotila\, Aaron Goldberg\, Anders Jormin\, Tim Hagans\, and many others. Nikita graduated with honors from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School\, specializing in jazz saxophone\, and has also studied at Finland's prestigious Sibelius Academy. He is currently studying jazz saxophone at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under Aleksander Paal's guidance. Currently\, Nikita leads and participates in several projects.\n\nNikita has collaborated with many top figures in the jazz scene\, both from Estonia and abroad. Among them are Holger Marjamaa\, New Wind Jazz Orchestra\, Estonian Dream Big Band\, North Star Big Band\, Lee Pearson II\, Benny Bennack III\, Joe Peri\, Jukkis Uotila\, Raoul Björkenheim\, Savannah Harris\, Aaron Goldberg\, Corcoran Holt\, Vernell Brown Jr.\, Ronald Bruner Jr.\, Tom van der Zaal\, Daan Kleijn\, Charlie Porter\, and others.\n\nThe concert is supported by the Estonian Embassy in London.\n\n \n\n[embed]https://youtu.be/z2VtvjiLg18?si=jdmDY5Poj6q2G5al[/embed]\n\n

His debut album “KOSMOS Suite“ was nominated for the German Jazz Prize 2023 and described by legendary vocalist Norma Winstone as ‘music full of imagination\, both tender and explosive’.\n\nRecorded in January 2024 after an intensive period of touring and composing\, his upcoming second album ‘Wake’ sees him return to a quintet setting alongside four of his favourite improvising musicians: Immy Churchill\, Karim Saber\, Jonas Esser and Jan Dittmann.
