SUMMARY:Queer Jazz: QUEEN KALTOUM w/ Maya Law (support)
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:45 PM\, Music 8:30 PM - 2 set(s) of music\nAbout\nQueer Jazz exists to platform\, nurture and celebrate the emerging queer jazz scene. Programmed by Tina Edwards and Arowah\, they have put together an exciting monthly programme of innovative LGBTQI+ artists at The Vortex Jazz Club\, supported by Arts Council England.\n\nTickets are flexibly priced - please select the pricing tier that reflects your situation. We want as many people as possible to access the gigs so if you're able to\, please consider paying for the highest ticket band\, otherwise cheaper tickets are limited but available.\n\nQUEEN KALTOUM: Moroccan singer/songwriter born in Italy and now London based. Through her Neo-soul/Rnb style she intends to heal and create a warm and welcoming environment for her listener. Perfect if you want to have a good time or share an intimate moment with a loved one. She creates a unique brand of conscious music that inspires and uplifts\, aiming to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels healing for her listener. A few years ago she joined the spanish-british band Crystal Fighters with whom she’s been touring over 13 countries. She also featured in their last album LIGHT+. Her first solo project will be out in January 2025\, a live album in collaboration with Pizza Express Records after the band McFly announced her as a winner for the competition that took place back in 2023.\n\nMaya Law (support): It’s no secret that Maya Law has a voice and songwriting ability far beyond her years on the planet. Raised in the spacious quiet of Norfolk\, Maya has created an expansive sound to match - one that warmly invites you alongside as she navigates life as a queer woman\, encounters heartbreak and offers refreshingly candid snapshots into her own mental wellbeing.
