DESCRIPTION:Jonah Evans’ group will be performing a some new and old original material by myself with some improvisations. Immy Churchill\, as special guest\, will also feature on vocals.\nThe music is inspired by and blends acoustic improvised music with electronic textures and grooves and will draw from elements of singer-songwriter music.\nLine-up:\nJonah Evans - drums / composition \nTom O’Brien - piano\nJulian Woods - bass / guitar \nScottie Thompson - Keys / synths\nOur Whirlpool Series brings together some of the exciting new talents emerging on the scene. The group works together every month on new music and arrangements.\n\nJonah Evans is a versatile drummer from Leeds. He has already performed with musicians such as Emma Rawicz\, Tom Cawley\, Immy Churchill and  Jonny Mansfield. He is the ‘go to’ drummer for a new generation.

Having met at Guildhall School of Music and Drama\, they have been shaped by their shared love of the jazz tradition\, and yet bring their most valuable contributions to the music through individual influences and unique musical backgrounds. Celebrating the interaction between individuality and collective experience is what Orchard’s music is all about - like rows of trees in the orchard\, each individual voice grows in conversation with the whole.\n\nHeavily influenced by artists such as Roy Hargrove\, Robert Glasper and Kokoroko\, Orchard’s music synthesises meaningful songwriting with heavy grooves\, warm horn lines\, and blistering improvisation.
