With a background in modern jazz and a love for the chaotic beauty of combining grunge\, ambient textures\, and rhythmic intensity\, Joe is pushing the limits of the jazz guitar trio - using it as a vessel for honest expression\, powerful groove\, and responsive improvisation.\n\nHis debut album\, recorded with his long-standing trio of Toby Yapp (bass) and Josh Walker-Martin (drums)\, is spontaneous\,\nunpredictable\, and driven by feel. The trio shifts from tight rhythmic drive to wide-open exploration\, combining the swagger of Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys\, the chromatic playfulness of Monk\, the melodic immediacy of new wave\, and the improvisational fire of Miles Davis in the 1960s and 70s.
