They began working together in 2013\, collaborating on 4 acclaimed albums\, including the live album recorded at 606 "The very thought of you" released 2014\, which also included leading UK musicians\, Stan Sulzmann and Gareth Williams. Their 4th\, most recent album\, "Somewhere in the night" continues their shared love of the classic songbook material\, combining a great lyric\, with fresh arrangements.\n\nJim and Zoe also share a love of New York\, where they both lived for a while. Jim in the 70's\, Zoe in the 90's deepening their love and craft for the music.\n\nJim Mullen has toured the globe\, performing and recording with many leading UK and US artists\, in a career spanning more than 5 decades. Alexandra has been playing with Freddie for the last 10 years and Quinton the last 4 in NYC.\n\nUK born multi award winner Alexandra Ridout is a trumpeter\, bandleader\, composer and educator based in Harlem NYC.\nAt only 26 years old Alexandra is already one of the most talented young trumpet players on the international scene. Since winning the UK’s prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician in 2016 she was catapulted into a busy high-profile career and has been captivating audiences ever since.\nHer awards include the British Jazz Awards “Rising Star” 2018\, Keep an Eye International Jazz Awards “Best Soloist” 2023\, 2nd place at the esteemed Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet competition 2023 and most recently the Next Jazz Legacy 2025 Award through New Music USA.\n\nAlexandra is a busy performer with her own outstanding bands of various sizes in leading venues in New York\, London and beyond. She has performed at many jazz festivals worldwide including Montreux\, North Sea\, Unity at the Lincoln Centre\, London\, Love Supreme and was recently an artist in residence at the Guimarães Jazz Festival.\n\nShe was a showcased performer/composer in the International Festival of New Trumpet Music (FONT) with her trio in New York in 2022.
