Made up of the best young musicians from the southwest of the country\, they perform across Germany and Switzerland\, have made tours to the USA and France\, and appear in the UK for the first time. Mixing classic big band repertoire with music by contemporary British and German composers\, the band is directed by British pianist and composer Will Bartlett and will feature guest saxophonist Josephine Davies.\n\nThe LJO's following set features original arrangements by Kenny Wheeler\, Scott Stroman\, Pete Hurt\, Miguel Gorodi\, and Noel Langley of jazz standards and pieces re-imagined for the magnificent band.\n\n \n\n[embed][/embed]

DESCRIPTION:Doors 7.45pm\, music 8.15pm\n\n \nAbout\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nA weekly session on Sunday evenings\, the jams will be hosted by some of London’s finest: drummer Jas Kayser\, pianist Rick Simpson\, guitarist Nick Costley-White\, trumpeter Sean Gibbs and tenor saxophonists Harben Kay and Riley Stone-Lonergan (+ sometimes a few guest leaders) each one hosting one session on rotation.\n\nIf you’re an instrumentalist\, you can attend for free if you’re planning on playing with the house band. No need to book in advance!\n\nOur dear Vortex members are also welcome to these sessions free of charge.\n\n\n\n\n
