This month we welcome the brilliant\, jazz and folk influenced Mari Green.\n\nMari Green\n\nMari Green is a Glaswegian singer-songwriter based in London whose music weaves together indie folk and jazz influences through voice and acoustic guitar. Inspired by artists like John Martyn and Nick Drake\, her writing is rich with emotive and personal story-telling\, soulful melodies and a sense of intimacy. Her performances are atmospheric and captivating\, with stripped-back guitar accompaniment allowing her expressive vocals to take centre stage. Always keeping collaboration and community at its heart\, NYJO provides opportunities for young musicians aged 18-25 to experiment creatively and develop the skills needed for a successful career.\n\nFor this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival\, NYJO invited Axel Kaner-Lidstrom\, founder and MD of Levitation Orchestra\, to work with NYJO musicians to create a set of high-energy original music\, inspired by the collective’s unique egalitarian approach to music making and dynamic live shows.\n\nThe ensemble will be composed of NYJO and Levitation Orchestra musicians - expect bold\, original music\, boundary-pushing improvisation from the top emerging jazz talent in London.\n\n
