About
Come and hear the great improvisers of the future share their talent in a programme led by Moss Freed and Academy alumnus Chris Williams. This programme represents the culmination of workshops with this special group of Royal Academy of Music students, connected by a keen interest in delving deeper into individual expression and exploring collaborative forms of real-time music-making.
The group’s playing journey will take in works from a range of forward-thinking contemporary composers. In celebration of Terry Riley’s 90th birthday in the same week, the ensemble will be performing the legendary ‘In C’. Completing the programme alongside free improv will be pieces from iconic experimental composer Pauline Oliveros and Manchester-based violinist/composer Gemma Bass.
