This is the first concert of the new series of Whirlpool concerts for 25/26.
The Whirlpool group changes from year to year. The current six members are: Jason Phillips, Lior Solomons-Wise, Ananda Brandao, Dom Howard, Barney Anderson, Olivia Hughes, Oli Fitzgerald.
Describing the opening concert a couple of years ago, Sebastian Scotney wrote in UK Jazz News: “Their ability to co-operate and dovetail with each other to create something new – particularly considering the four had never met before – and the way they were able to create flow and to tell a story together was nothing short of astonishing.”
For future concerts, different members of the group will be leading.
